Dealing with Anthropocentricism

First of all, I hope I spelled that right

But, do you think it's okay to work through our problems with an anthropocentric view for now?
We can use that view and apply it the best we can to other animals to imagine what their views and values might be. Maybe in doing so it would make for an easier transition into a non-anthropocentric view

  1. I see your point, but I am not sure that working through our problems in an anthropocentric view even just for now is the correct approach. Applying human attributes to a tree is not realistic or accurate. A tree is alive, and certainly will do certain things in order to keep on living, but applying anthropocentric views makes things more complicated than it has to be. I believe that for now instead of applying any views or any assumptions to plants and certain species of animals is the wrong way to get about all of these issues. I think that using what we know for now, and simply sticking with those hard scientific facts will make solving certain issues much easier.

  2. The more one can deconstruct the identity, the more one can truly interpret and comment on the world. I think that assuming that animals have views or values is a step back. By stepping outside the self, one can begin to take steps towards understanding the infinite amount of connectivity that exists in our universe, and from there, a sense of moral certainty.
